A FRIEND INDEED!! Part 2

Proverbs 18:24. MSG.

²⁴ Friends come and friends go,
    but a true friend sticks by you like family.

Friendship is one of the greatest Blessings of life anyone can crave for is a friend indeed not because there\’s a need to meet but for the long lasting impression. Solomon, the scripture says was one of the wisest men that ever lived said in his book proverbs , \”FRIENDS COME AND FRIENDS GO, BUT A TRUE FRIEND STICKS BY YOU LIKE A FAMILY\”.

Of course he meant a friend who will never leave you in time of trouble that was why the psalmist says \”God is our Refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1). Jesus said to His Disciples \”No Longer do I call you Servant for a servant does not know what his Master is doing but I have called you Friends ( John 15:15).

The bible says Abraham was called the Friend of God, And says about Moses that the Lord spoke To Moses face to face as a man speaks to his Friend. These shows that friendship envolves like any other living entity, develope gradually with time and must be built and natured in trust.

These men whom God at the cause of His dwelling and dealing together with them He considered them as a friend is not a mean fit. Their relationship did not start one day and get to a cruciando the next day NO! NO!! NO!!! It developed as time envolves. Read through the account of those people God considered His Friends with the passage of time in their relationship because He finds them worthy and dependable , He knows their strength and their weaknesses, He was ready to give them strength in their weakness and celebrated them.

Who is your friend? can the person be trusted with your strength and weaknesses, can you trust him with your secret and be sure he can stand the pressure of trials when it matters most, definitely being dependable is not everyone\’s energy, indeed some people might not even be there at the times when they are needed .

When Jonathan\’s death was brought to David\’s knowledge he broke down and said \”I cry for you, my brother Jonathan. I enjoyed your friendship so much. Your love to me was wonderful,
better than the love of women\”. (2Samuel 1:26). A good friend is that person who will not take pleasure in your down fall.

A friend indeed is trust worthy not only are your secrets safe with them but also your vulnerability , fears and weirdness are covered and protected by them.

PRAYERS

May God Almighty give us friends who will always be there indeed, a divine soulmate and grant us the grace to be reliable and worthy friend to others too in Jesus name Amen.

REFLECTION

A true friend will take any risk to make his friend succeed in life . \”…And Jesus was teaching them God’s message. 3 Four people came, carrying a paralyzed man. 4 Since they could not get to Jesus because of the crowd, they dug a hole in the roof right above where he was speaking. When they got through, they lowered the mat with the paralyzed man on it. 5 When Jesus saw the faith of these people, he said to the paralyzed man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.”. (Mark 2:3-5).
