HUMILITY IS A VIRTUE.

     According to the dictionary meaning,  Humility is the quality of having a modest or low view of one\’s importance.  The word Humility signifies lowliness
Or  Submission and it is derived from the Latin word Humilitas. According to the word of saint Thomas Humility is from the word Humus ie the earth beneath us….The bible discribed Humility as Meekness, Lowliness and absence of Self. The Greek word for Humility was translated in the book of colosians literally
as \” LOWLINESS OF MIND\”   \”Therefore as the elect of God holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility and longsuffering \” (Colosians 3:12).
       Biblical Humility is grounded in the character of God according to the book of psalm 113:4-9.
                                             \” THE LORD IS HIGH ABOVE ALL NATIONS ;HIS GLORY ABOVE THE HEAVEN, WHO IS LIKE THE LORD OUR GOD WHO DWELLS
                                                 ON HIGH, WHO HUMBLES HIMSELF TO BEHOLD THE THINGS THAT ARE IN HEAVEN AND IN THE EARTH?. HE RAISES THE
                                                 POOR OUT OF THE DUST AND LIFTS THE NEEDY OUT OF THE ASH HEAP, THAT HE MAY SEAT HIM WITH PRINCES-WITH THE
                                                PRINCES OF HIS PEOPLE.HE GRANTS THE BARREN WOMAN A HOME LIKE A JOYFULL MOTHER OF CHILDREN\”. Praise the Lord!
        In Humility value others above yourself, humble youself in the site of the lord and he shall lift you up. Therefore as God\’s chosen peolpe holy and dearly beloved, cloth yourself with passion, kindness, gentleness and patience. True humilty is not thinking less of yourself it is thinking of yourself less. True humilty is staying teachable regardless of how much you already know.
         What we surffer today is humilty in the wrong way, modesty has moved from the organ of conviction where it was never meant to be. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit point of veiw  but in humilty count others more significant than yourself, let each of you look not only his own interest but also to the interest of others. It is strange when people say that they have arrived while they are not yet there. To go far in life  you must have to be humble.
The person you looked down on today may be your stepping stone tomorrow. In the book of Micah  6: 8. Says
             \”HE HATH SHOWN, O MAN OF GOD,WHAT IS GOOD : AND WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF THEE BUT TO DO JUSTLY,TO LOVE MERCY AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH THY GOD?\”
  Before destruction the heart of man is haughty and before honour is humility. Indeed humility is a father of honour, Humility meant you are the first to apologise in every quarrel even when you are the one that is being offended. Humility means serving others when they are meant to serve you and this was demostrated in the time of Jesus Christ,when He decided to wash the feets of His disciples to teach them what leadership was supposed to be.
  Humility is refusing to accept unworthy praises that is meant to massage your ego.  Humility is obeying others today because some day they may in turn obey you. Humility is rendering of services to God even in a way people may look down on you for carring out certain odd jobs in church for God\’s sake in other to serve man. Humility means though you have self worth or you are confident yet you chose to respect others highly by addressing them with such as Sir or Ma as the case may be even though they ought to respect and address you highly. Humility is to remember always that the way to up starts from down
   According to saint Augustine,  he said \” DO YOU WISH TO RISE?BEGIN BY DECENDING! \” You Plan a Tower That Will Pierce The Clouds? Lay first the
  Foundation Of Humility. Any Throne without the footstool of Humility will end up in Disgrace.
                                               \”IT WAS PRIDE THAT TURNED ANGELS INTO DEMONS AND IT WAS HUMILITY THAT TURNS MEN INTO ANGELS!\”.
