THE FRUITS OF WISDOM

Proverbs 2:6 (GNB), 1Kings 3:9-10 (GNB), Proverbs 24:3
It is the LORD who gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding. *So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?\” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, *Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established.
Wisdom is not the acquisition of knowledge, information, concepts and principles. Rather, it is the appropriate application of the knowledge, information, concepts and principles that you have acquired. The fact that you have acquired some form of knowledge does not necessarily mean that you have wisdom. It is after that knowledge is rightly applied and produces good fruit that you can be said to have wisdom. In James 3:17, one of the things that the Bible says about the wisdom that is from above is that it is full of good fruits. Today, we will look at some good fruits that
can potentially serve as a measurement for wisdom.

One fruit is the way you lead and relate with others. Solomon asked for wisdom for this purpose. Treating people justly and fairly is a reflection of your level of wisdom, Prov.2:6&9. Another fruit is the discretion with which you carry out all your activities. Psalm 112:5 says a good man guides his affairs with discretion. Discretion speaks about caution, carefulness and proper management. Doing things in an honest and orderly way is a reflection that your actions are being guided by wisdom. The way you create, build and establish people, systems, structures and things is also a fruit of wisdom, Prov.24:3. The durability and trans-generational impact of the things you create and build also greatly reflect your wisdom and understanding. Your relationship with God is a major fruit of your wisdom. Prov. 15:33 reminds us that the fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom and before honour is humility
