Genesis 27:27-29 (NIV)
So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, \”Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed. May God give you of heaven\’s dew and of earth\’s richness — an abundance of grain and new wine. May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you.\”
Author1 PhotoWhen Isaac declared, while blessing Jacob, that God would give Jacob the dew of Heaven, He was referring to a spiritual unction that would come from God to water His life and make him divinely fruitful and productive. The dew of Heaven is one of the dimensions of the blessings of God that is upon our lives. The rain and dew of Heaven will continue to shower upon your life because God has opened them upon you. He has blessed you with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Eph.1:3. Everywhere you go, you will render the aroma of like a field that God has blessed. Just as Isaac blessed Jacob because he thought it was Esau, God has blessed you as if it were Christ He was blessing because you have put on Christ, Gal.3:27. God sees and smells Christ on you because you are in Christ.
One thing that rain and dew symbolize is divine inspiration. Divine inspiration will make you fruitful and productive. Job 32:8 says, there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty gives Him understanding. By the rain and dew of heaven, you will have great divine inspiration in your academics, in your career, in your business, in your ministry and in your family. Great ideas, solutions, innovations and inventions will come out of your life. You will have great insight, direction and motivation to be fruitful in every area of your life. Dryness is no longer permitted in your life. Nothing will stop you from being inspired and being fruitful in all that you do.
The rain and the dew symbolise abundance of blessings. \”Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice at what the Lord your God has done for you. He has given you the right amount of autumn rain, He has poured down the winter rain for you and the spring rain as before, the threshing places will be full of grain, the pits beside the presses will overflow with wine and oil.\”(Joel 2:23-24).
