The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness……. A wholesme tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. (Proverbs15:2&4) Also in the book of James charpter 3:4-6 admonishes us to look also at ships, although they are so large and are driven by strong winds they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
The above quotes reveals to us that you can determine the direction you want your life to go by the words that you confesses with your mouth. What direction are you programming your life to go. Proverbs 18:20-21 says, “from the fruit of his mouth a man\’s stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit”. In the Good News Bible this same scripture says, “You will have to live with the consequences of everything you say. What you say can preserve life or destroy it; so you must accept the consequences of your words”. In Mark 11:23 , Jesus said, “for assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, \’Be removed and be cast into the sea,\’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
What are you saying, child of God? You will have whatever you say, so deliberately believe and speak God’s mind into every area of your life. It is good to think right but you must also speak right. It is also good to pray right but you must also speak right. Do not be double minded by praying one thing and confessing another over your life. Be consistent both in season and out of season. Whose words are you believing and agreeing with over your life? Nobody’s words can affect your life as much as your own. As a man thinks so he is. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his work is done in the meekness of wisdom (James 3:13). Cheers. Blessing
