CONTENTMENT.

Contentment is referred to as \”Freedom from anxiety or worry (1Timothy 6:6). The idea of contentment comes from a Greek word that means\”Independence\” or \”Self- Sufficiency\”. But the apostle Paul used the word in a Christian sense to show that real satisfaction or Sufficiency comes from God\”. (Nelson\’s New Illustrated Bible Dictionary). The book of 1st Timothy further throw more light on what it is like when one is contented.

\”But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing,we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fail into the temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. (1 Timothy 6:6-8

When one is engrossed with ingratitude the person will not be grateful to the few he has rather always wanting to acquire more and having unrelentable thought on how to keep on acquiring. \”Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting with strife\”. ( Proverbs 17:1).

\”Whoever loves money never has money enough, whosever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income this too is meaningless\” (Ecclesiastes 5:10).

A content heart is full of gratitude and praise, very cheerful even in the giving of what he has. You ought to be Self disciplined and be self sufficient to imbibe the spirit of contentment with fear of God. \”The sleep of a labourer is sweet whether he eats little or much,….\” \” Moreover when God gives any man wealth and possessions and enables him to enjoy them , to accept his lot and be happy in his work this is a gift of God, he seldom reflects on the day of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart\” (Ecclesiastes 5:19-20).

In whatever situation we find ourselves we have to rejoice and be thankful to God that\’s contentment. Remain Blessed.
