FORGIVENESS.

Matthew 6:9-14 (TLB).

[9]“Pray along these lines: ‘Our Father in heaven, we honor your holy name.
[10]We ask that your kingdom will come now. May your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven.
[11]Give us our food again today, as usual,
[12]and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
[13]Don’t bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One.Amen.’
[14](14-15) Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you.

Forgiveness is the internal and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offence . Let\’s go off negative emotions such as resentment and vengeance with an increased ability to wish the offender well. Wikipedia.

Forgiveness is the act of pardoning an offender, the Greek word for \”Forgiveness\” is translated literally as \”To let go\”

Actually, forgiveness can be very hard to do. The pains and hurt others may cause their fellow human being may be real and great yet the pain of living with bitterness and unforgiveness can be poisonous to both your body and soul.

When we forgive others; we are not saying what they did was ok but what we are doing is just to release them to God who says \”Do not revenge; vengeance belongs to me\”. Thereby letting go off it\’s hold or consequences on us.

\”To be a christain means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiveness the inexcusable\” _ C S LEWIS.

A research by JOHN HOPKINS MEDICINE. Says \”forgiveness has a huge impact on your health\”.
\”Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives\”.(Romans 3:23)

Therefore our righteousness is like a filthy rag before our Lord, yet He deems it proper not to look intently to our unrighteousness any time we fail short of His glory.

Mark 11:24-25
[24]\”Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you have it; it’s yours!
[25]But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive you your sins too.”

Forgiveness is making excuses for another person\’s short coming without holding it against the offender to the point of forgiving the offender before he/she ask for forgiveness or renders an apology. _ Ugonneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha Ph.d

\”Pay attention and always be on your guard [looking out for one another]. If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him.

Forgiveness is good and better to the one that forgives because it gives you the freedom to act better and feel better.
In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favour. (Ephesians 3:17).
