1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth
The knowledge of the truth we are facing now is that we are like people who are facing another world war. In war times people die in droves because bullets does not discriminate when it hits at its target, it is called a weapon of destruction therefore bound to kill as many people as it gets in contact with so is the kind of death we are seeing now people die helplessly in droves not minding personality profile or the race and colour with the Coronavirus Pandemic. This has taking us to what I may term the Battle of Life.
The battle of life has proven to be difficult to every generation for various reasons. The enemies are often times difficult to identify and sometimes come in the form of human opposition, criticism and antagonism. At other times they come as physical challenges and obstacles. At times they present themselves as natural disasters happening in different ways and forms like the ongoing pandemic
However, like the war times that comes and go so is this one will surely find its way out of the system but not without leaving a strain on the inhabitants. It is but for a while it must fade away with time. Therefore we must note that there is a spiritual dimension to every battle of life. According to Ephesians 6:12:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Though the credentials of our enemy may be intimidating, still, a Christian enters the battle of life from a position of victory. This is the high standpoint of the Christian faith and the only ground on which we should meet the devil and his agents.
Our victory has already been handed down to us! According to Revelation 12:11 says “they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”
Our weapons of warfare are clearly greater than those of our wicked foes. The Blood of Jesus has secured our victory and our sword of the spirit is the word of God. We do not confront and overcome the devil and his agents by our ability but by the blood of Jesus. This makes it absolutely necessary that we live as victors in this world while we return all glory to God for our victory.
The battle is not ours but the Lord’s. Jesus is the seed of the woman, our Captain and the Lord of hosts. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved and shed His precious Blood for us. Let us praise and worship the Almighty God who has granted us victory through the Blood of Jesus. And the blood of Jesus will surely speak better things for us and for our entire household. Continue to plead the blood and declare peace over every country in the world that are being ravage by this Coronavirus infection, pray for God\’s intervention and also for the virus to fade away going by the way it came.
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; (1Timothy 2:1). We already have been exhorted to make all supplications, prayers and intercessory for all those who are in authorities and to people all over the world that God will guide them against falling; as a Christian is your duty to pray fervently concerning what is happening all round the world for God\’s intervention and for His revival, healing of the world.
