1Peter 5:7-10. (Amplifier Bible).
5:7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.]
5:8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
5:9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset–rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.
5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
5:11 To Him be the dominion (power, authority, rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
God expects every one of His children to be sober and vigilant in watching against temptations and sins such as pride, worldliness, self-righteousness, immorality, complacency, lukwarmness, spiritual bareness and rebellion against constituted authority. We must not be confounded by negative news around the world; rather we should respond with understanding as persons who are informed and therefore well-prepared to watch for signs of the end times.
With the trendings now, it\’s enough to break hearts even the elites yet we must watch and pray, be consciously at alert; sober minded so that we don\’t get ourselves deceived or carried away by self conceitedness.
Beloved, this is wake up Call for all Christians we cannot afford to lose focus for a moment like this; our hearts must be kept with all diligence. We must watch the crafty attempts of the enemy to attack the authority of the Scriptures. Yes for our good we are asked to stay home and lock our families and selves indoors until the plague passes away like the Children of Israel were told in a time when they were faced with a situation like we are facing now in this Pandemic moment in the book of Isaiah 26: 20-21.
20 My people, go into your rooms and lock your doors.Hide in there for a short time until God’s anger is finished.
21 Look! The LORD is coming out from his place to judge the people of the world for the bad things they have done.The earth will reveal the blood that has been spilled on it.It will no longer hide the proof of those murders.
We must be on a watch out always asking for God\’s Mercies, praying that this plague cease and enough of the death that we may live again to do His work for the good of man . However we have to guide against worldliness and the quest for ungodly pleasures. Every member of the body of Christ must watch against the secularisation of the Church and protect its sanctity against false prophets.
\”Therefore prepare your minds for action, be sober minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the Revelation of Christ Jesus. (1peter 1:13).
\”And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying \”now have come the salvation and power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down he who accuses them day and night before God\”. (Revelation 12:10).
“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” 1st Thessalonians 5:6. It might sound weird that at a perilous time like this the Churches or any other prayer houses are lockdown perhaps it would have been open for people to come in there to pray and intercede for those in authorities and the entire world so that people may lead quiet and peaceable life in godliness and reverence . 1Timothy 2:1-4.
This is supposed to suggest to you that you are the temple of the most high God; always make where ever you are a Tabernacle for God to dwell in and sup with you so that all your supplications, prayers, intercessory and giving of thanks will be heard and honored in Jesus name
Wherefore gird up the loin of your mind be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at Revelation of Jesus Christ. We shall conquer if we do not faint. Hold on to God and trust Him, we shall all come out stronger in faith while we continnuously watch and pray 🙏 ✍️Blessingonugha ❤️.
