CHildren wants to make their fathers proud mostly those fathers who are involved and active, playing vital roles in support of their growing up. Always doing things to promote and enhance their growth in life and see to their welfare.
Sudden do you often hear a child say when I grow up I would like to be like my father or mother, meaning will like to imitate the roles which they see their father or mother play which they considered lmpactive to a good cause in their lives.
This is exactly how it is with our heavenly Father who formed us in the most secret part in our mother\’s womb; nurtured and made us in his image and brought us out yet never abandoned us. He watches us in support of our growth and welfare.
2Chronicles 16:9 says \”For the eye of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His…\”
What does it mean to be like your father or to imitate what you normally see him do. Simple; obey his commandment and follow his footsteps.
In Matthew 5:45-48. Jesus Christ said during one of His speeches on the mount to His disciples \”That you may be sons of your Father in heaven, for He makes the sun rise on the evil and on the good. And sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you Love those who love you what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collector do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect\”
It is quite obvious that you don\’t become a child of another man by mere imitation, that does not make him his biological child or adoptive child. NO! rather what it means is to be like your own father by doing what he is known to be by his nature. In this same vain no man can say by mere imitation he is like God except there is relationship as in Father and son and this comes by His grace not by works so by works no man can prevail; for Paul says \”But by the grace of God I am what I am and His grace in me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them..yet not I but the grace of God that was with me\”. (1Corinthians 15:10).
Then again Christ is referring to a regenerated man when He said \”That ye may be the children of your Father\”. As a follower of God by adopting grace which is discovered in the regeneration that is agreeable to His nature and conduct as it is said A Tree is known By It\’s Fruits. That\’s why in Romans 12:1-2
1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
\”For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good\” This is Jesus Christ\’s good way of explaining to them that the sun is God\’s own and He has the right of ownership yet He gives it out willingly to the earth the same measure without discrimination irrespective of who enjoys the benefits. And He sent rain on the just and the unjust. Knowing what good the rain does on the earth; it waters the ground for the people to sow seeds so that it may bring forth bread to the eater and seed to the shower 2Corinthians 9:10.
This is one of the most beautiful blessings of life for recreation through nature. What else can anyone imagine that despite the vanity of what we think of and hold unto ; He still does not withhold His Blessings from us and He don\’t discriminate.
You just imagine what Jesus passed through in the hands of the Pharisees and the Scribes yet He taught His disciples on how to love even those that hate them by saying. \”But If you Love those who love you , What Credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them\”.
The Pharisee are highly religious and are self conceited and They were also mean-spirited, stingy, and self-righteous. They twisted the Scriptures – tested and questioned Jesus. They prayed loudly in the streets, so that others would be impressed with their piety. They moped pitifully when they fasted, so people would admire their self-deprivation and discipline.
Jesus saw through their religious deceptive outward appearance, and they hated Him for it. However, Jesus said that even the Pharisees – deceptive hypocrites they still loved those who loved them. And He challenges us today: if we only love those who are kindly disposed towards us, what credit is that to us? That we have not loved
The true test of love is when we are the first to forgive, when we seek to be reconciled to an enemy, when we do good to those that deceive and use us, when we lend to the needy with no expectation of return, when we treat others the way we wish to be treated. Jesus promises a wonderful reward when we act like our generous Father Who shows us how to be kind to the ungrateful and wicked in Luke 6:35-36.
\”But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.\” Thanks And Be Blessed As You Read 🙏. ✍️ Blessingonugha ❤️
