Clay Mask works on your skin and leave you with an amazing feeling of freshness. It rid your skin off excess oils and toxins that clogs your pores.
To get this kind of mask done you have to procure your Clay powder before hand and store in a cool dry place so that any time you want to mix your face mask for use it has to be fresh; enough to last for 5-6 days and most be repeated whenever the need arises. This mask is very good for Oily skin, Combination , normal and acne prone skin types.
HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CLAY MASK
Ingredients:- 1/4 cup of clay powder. Clay powder can come in a variety of colours like green; milky or cream color, rose pink, gray ash etc. It derives it’s name according to it’s colours. Irrespective of the colours it does almost the same job and mine is the rose pink not for any preference rather the type I saw when I bought it.
1 tablespoon of Bentonite or kaolin clay. Bentonite clay is a natural clay with a fine soft texture. It is mostly used for medical or cosmetics purposes for the treatment of rashes and acne. Bentonite clay absorbs oils and dirt from the skin and absorbs toxins from the skin and keeps your pores free from clog. It penetrates deep down to the skin to clear dead cells from your skin. It is natural from volcanic ash contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron.
Kaolin is source from the rock too, it contains kaolinite which is the mineral content in kaolin it is usually use for industrial purposes and is very good in the treatment of acne because it absorbs excuse oily and can unclog the pores of the skin. It can also be produce in a laboratory. It can also be used for medical uses for the treatment of diarrhea and to relieve swollen or sore throat and other medical reasons. It soften dry skin and has a healing effect on rashes or insect bites. Use either of the two not two of them at the same time.
5 drops of tea tree oil. This is an essential oil known for its antibacterial , antiviral , and anti inflammatory properties. It is very good for the treatment of acne and it gets rid of flakiness and reduces itching.
Licorice powder not the extract. Licorice extract is from the root of the licorice plant though they almost do the same work of reducing the scars caused by acne and help to reduce the dark patches and black heads yet the powder which is from the seed is better for the purpose we are treating.
Rose Water.
Get your mixing bowl and put all the ingredients together in the mixing bowl then pour 1/2 cup of rose water and mix them very well to form a paste; a smooth slimy consistency pour in an airtight container to last for 5-6 days.
Add few drops of lime/lemon juice . This ingredient is optional, I purposely put it last because from experience I found out that if you add lime/lemon juice in any of your skin treatment/products and you expose your skin under the sun without wearing sunblock cream you will experience breakouts or sun burn which is caused due to the Acidity NATURE of the acidic acid content in lime juice thereby causing irritation and redness of the skin.
All your efforts to get a clearer skin will be defeated unless you use it in the night or when you are not going outside during the sunny days and to treat burn tan is not so easy and not with immediate result. I personally do not add them in my beauty regime any longer. I earlier inform us that whatever I write is first hand experience; I use my products and I’m particular about the result I get before I let it out. All my write ups are on DIY EXPERIENCE.
Direction:- Apply the mask liberally on your cleaned face with make up brush or your hand on your face; allow to dry for 30- 45 minutes before you wash with lukewarm water, finish it up with your moisturizer or lotion. Please note that when applying this Mask be careful of covering your nose area with the paste; so that you don’t breathe in the dusty powder from the kaolin clay in other not to allow the dust induce coughing or choking effect in your nose or irritation.
