EMBRACE YOUR WEAKNESS.

Judges 6:14-16. NKJV.

Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”

So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”

And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.”

It is easier to feel insignificant or look in the direction of this changing world\’s fast track of evolvement and feel small or not having capacity. Sometimes that very insignificance plays huge roles in the affairs of the moment.

Gideon found himself in the midst of a terrible mess occasioned by the attacking raids of their enemies, the Midianites to his country (Israel) who besieged them and made lives very unbearable to them and he felt very irrelevant and incapacitated to do something to deliver his people from the destructions of the enemy as such was cowed like any other person in the land and he went hiding, limiting himself based on the circumstances far beyond his reach, forgetting that you can\’t hide before the OMNIPOTENT GOD.

Gideon was the least in his family line and his clan (Manasseh) were considered the weakest amongst the clans of Israelites yet God has a purpose for all His creation because He want people to know that He is a deliverer and He does not saved by Sword nor Strength or Might of the people.

\”He will protect His Faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone\” (1Samuel 2:9) NLT.

Paul said that he would boast of his weakness so that the power of Christ could rest on him.

2Cor.12.9 – And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Cor.12.10 – Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ\’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (KJV).

In 1 Corinthians 1:27, the bible says \”But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty\”

Do you know that God does not count on our weaknesses; what matters to Him is the ability that lies in us which perhaps we do not recognize. Can you imagine that even Gideon does not recognize the enemous power he possessed that was why when the angle of God met him and called him a man of valour he was busy arguing with the angel.

\”And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

\”Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”. (Judges 6 12-13).

One thing Gideon did not recognized was that he doesn\’t know that God does not call the qualified rather He qualified the called. Being with God is the sole defining quality of great worker for the Lord.  If a man is with God, He will give that man the ability to do His will.  God doesn’t call the qualified for His work.   God calls the man who is devoted to Him and He will equip that man for the tasks ahead.

Being weak before the Lord can make us the kind of vessel God can use to facilitate the marvelous works He is doing in the world. When we embrace our weakness with all sense of humility we can begin to look beyond ourselves and begin to look up to God for help.

Our sufficiency comes from God, He made each one of us differently and has unique purpose for everyone. He uses all the circumstances in our lives to accomplish His plans in our lives Nothing Is Too Difficult For Him.

Allow God to transform you for His glory. Thanks for Reading, Remain Blessed Amen.

  1. Amen. What a wonderful reminder that God does not look at our physical capabilities but our hearts. Reminds me of David. Even the great prophet, Samuel, was fooled by the outward appearance. What a mighty God we serve. Bless the Lord. Thank you and have a great weekend.
