Colossians 1:18-21
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Reconciliation is restoration of friendly relationship. Reconciliation is also related to justification. God has reconciled the world, not counting people\’s sins against them. It is related to justification In Romans 5:17-18 \”For if by one man\’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life\”
Christ contains many good attributes within Him, in Him there\’s forgiveness of sins,In Him there\’s healing, In Him there\’s Life for He is the Light and the way, In Him is good Will. He has taken all our Sorrows, borne all our sins, Our Transgressions, Fears and Anxieties are all taken by Him. His blood which was shed on the cross, spilled for our sake has exonerated us from our evil deeds and He reconciled us back to God.
He wasn\’t self seeking or selfish in doing what He was doing for it pleased the Father that in Him dwells the full head complete as a sacrifice. Reconciliation involves a change in the relationship between God and man or man and man. It assumes there has been a breakdown in the relationship, but now there has been a change from a state of enmity and fragmentation to one of harmony and fellowship.
To reconcile with estranged friend(s) takes sacrifice, subduing self, burying the dictates of flesh for relaying on the flesh will puff up and massage your ego that\’s why man tend not to forget and forgive.
,\”The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life\”.
Yeah! to err is human but to forgive is divine. Not everyone finds it so easy to forgive at the same time may not have it easy to reconcile with an estranged fellow. Not as if it\’s inhuman but pride.
I was ones rudely offended by a junior, I allowed the anger to lay heavy on me so much as to warrant my blocking the phone number but nevertheless I cautioned myself not to deny myself the joy of a peaceful mindset because of minor offense, in my sobber reflection I reasoned it could be an honest mistake instead of a deliberate offencive action then decided to let go and free my mind and unblocked the line.
I found out to forgive and reconcile must have to come deeply from your mind not holding back anything, not weighing options. It takes two to reconcile, Someone said you can forgive someone without necessarily reconciling with the person. It perhaps means the forgiveness is not absolute. The Scripture says He reconciled us back to God meaning there must be a Shift none of the parties must remain in the same position, there must be a total restoration back to former position for peace
Reconciliation is a process and it must involved parties in a conflict or disagreement who are willing to make amend or come to a truce. Most People often confuse forgiveness with reconciliation lumping them together as being the same thing. Not really, Reconciliation is the final step in the forgiveness process, but forgiveness is like the icing on top of the cake which makes reconciliation worthy to accept. You must have to forgive before stretching your hands of fellowship for reconciliation.
\”Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you\” (Colossians 3:13)
18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation\” (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).
Is only the strong that forgives, the weak cannot forgive. Have faith in God, forgive your offenders and intentionally make amend and stretch your hand of fellowship for reconciliation.

Waoo, I love this topic {RECONCILIATION } u just made me to understand the difference btw reconciliation and forgiveness, but there’s something I understand recently, I understand that someone can actually forgive and even reconciled but never forgotten. If I may ask, what’s the essence of forgiveness and reconciliation when the person have not forgotten what happened? I strongly believe u will educate us or me more on this . Thanks
