Numbers 14: 1-9.
1 So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, \”If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?\” 4 So they said to one another, \”Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.\”
5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who wereamong those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: \”The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.\’ 9Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.\”
Millions of Israelites left Egypt, yet many of them could not leave Egypt behind. Whenever they are faced with challenges, they murmured and rebelled, protesting to go back to Egypt. That has been the life style of many of us.
Don\’t look back to your past; your past experience is in the past, stop allowing it to hurnt you or reoccurring in your mind as such constituting a stumbling block to your moving forward. Let the past be of the past.
Determined that you will focus on your days and years ahead which is more fulfilling. Resolve within yourself not to look back! Keep your focus on the bigger picture; the promised Land that flows with milk and honey not on the giants that you see on your way to your promised land.
It is important to let go off our pains , hurts, disappointments and all the betrayals of life and pursue your set goals. See every day as an opportunity to start afresh and be in a high spirit to conquer whatever may come up for the day.
It is also important to note that to forget about the past and move ahead will do you more good than being allowed to be strained or swallowed by the hurt of the past thereby allowing the detractors the opportunity to mock you.
I t is not the time to start counting the little droppings that comes to you through your past relationships; it\’s not the time to start considering how difficult it is to overcome the giants, or challenges that may surface in the time of moving forward rather it\’s the time to remember how much gains that will accrue to you only when you dare to enter your own place of rest (Promised Land) where you will enjoy plenty Milk and Honey.
It is not the time to start complaining about God not able to fulfill His promises on time as a result you start declaring evil to yourself like the Israelites did when they heard the reports of the 10 spies.
And all the Children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them
\”If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness\”. (Numbers 14:2).
It is time to reassure yourself that
\”If the Lord delights in Us then He will bring Us into this Land and give it to Us, a land which flows with Milk and Honey. ( Numbers 14: 8).

Colins, the PA protocol officer attached to the office of her excellency the wife of the immediate past governor of Imo state, his excellency and presently the senator representing Imo west, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Barr Colins\’ picture was displayed with a write up \”Rest in Peace\” in my group chat, he died in a motor accident just yesterday, when I saw his picture in display, I couldn\’t believe it, I remembered a very unassuming young man very dedicated and hard working, committed to his job and always smiling and loyal to the core. I asked my self What is life? Chia! Now he is gone and will be remembered for his well behaved character even as a police officer and for his good deeds. May his humble soul rest with the Lord amen.
