DIVINE PROTECTION

Psalm 91:1-16. (Amplified Bible).

91:1 HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

91:2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

91:3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

91:4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

91:5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

91:6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

91:7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

91:8 Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

91:9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, [Ps. 91:1, 14.]

91:10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

91:11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

91:12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. [Luke 4:10, 11; Heb. 1:14.]

91:13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot. [Luke 10:19.]

91:14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness–trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

91:15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

91:16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

A refuge is a secured shelter or a place of protection from danger and distress. It is a stronghold that is commonly used for retreats, healing and renewal.

It is therefore comforting that the Bible refers to God as our Refuge. 2nd Samuel 22:3 says:

“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.”

In effect, God is our Fortress, Strong Tower, Rock of defence, our Shield, our Shade of protection and our Shelter in the time of storms. Indeed, He is a mighty God with incredible capabilities. As the Lord of hosts and our Mighty man in battle, He is mighty to deliver and mighty to save.

A father’s capabilities and actions go a long way in affecting the life of his child. Our heavenly Father does not only neutralize weapons designed against His children, He also protects them from harm. ,I have experience His goodness in this regards several times, and I would like to share one of these with you today in this article, though I had shared it severally including in this platform. Howbeit, I will not be tired of sharing this particular testimony because I know is only God that saved my life from the hands of the bandits

. I testify that God’s word is trustworthy, reliable and dependable, and this word says in Psalm 20:7-8:

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.”

That fateful day; first week in February 2019 I was driving from owerri in Imo state in Southeast of Nigeria to Abuja the North Central of Nigeria. I ran into some group of bandits dressed in army comuflage along Lokoja – Abuja road, it was a horrific truma and God saved me and every body in that vehicle by His divine intervention. Honestly is better told than experience it Before the Almighty God I worship, I was reciting psalm 91 inside me. Praise the Lord I am alive to tell my story Hallelujah 🙌 🙏

Irrespective of what you may be passing through right now, trust in God and call upon His Name today and always, He will give you all-round peace and protection.

\”Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain\”. (Psalm 127:1).

Christmas season is a period of celebrations, peace and good tidings of great joy. It is also a period you cannot afford to loose your guard because of the uncertainty of people hiding under the celebration mood to unleash evil and wickedness. So be cautious and rejoice with wisdom for the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ also calls for Reflections and Love. May we all be divinely protected all through the season in Jesus name 🙏
