Luke 14:12-14 (Amplified Bible).
14:12 Jesus also said to the man who had invited Him, When you give a dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, lest perhaps they also invite you in return, and so you are paid back.
14:13 But when you give a banquet or a reception, invite the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind.
14:14 Then you will be blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied), because they have no way of repaying you, and you will be recompensed at the resurrection of the just (upright).
No one can live a life of impact until he/she learns to give. \”We make a living by what we get , we make a life by what we give_ [ WINSTON CHURCHILL]. The value of a man\’s life is not in how much he acquires and amasses during life time, rather it is in how much he has given away and on how many he has impacted on others that was why our Lord and saviour said to a man in Luke 12: 15.
\”Beware ! Don\’t always be wishing for what you don\’t have for real life is not related to how rich we are\”.
When you consider it you may say that heaven does not celebrate the richest man on earth rather heaven celebrates the greatest givers on earth. The greatest givers are those who give promptly at every given opportunity and are willing givers and cheerfully without expecting to be given back.
\”But when you give to the needy , do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing , so that your giving may be in secret . Then your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you\” (Matthew 6: 3-4)
I really thank God for the word of God honestly the word of God is sweeter when you read it and begin to apply it practically, it becomes meaningful to you. To God be the glory, I actually come from a family that like giving, honestly my grandpa was a giver personified and he loved me so much and almost spoiled me with gift. I think a learnt my giving habit from him.
When I started earning a living I was making a giving but my type of giving was based on people I know and when I give I expect some respect and loyalty from the receiver, honestly I hate it if you have benefited from my benevolence and my magnanimity and you don\’t appreciate me perhaps next time even when you are in need and you approached me I consider the person an ingrate that deserves no pity until I began to know better through the word of God my attitude towards giving changed for good.
\”A generous person will prosper , whose ever refreshes others will be refreshed\” ( Proverbs 11:25).
At times I realized that it is not how much we give that matters but how much love you put into such given. Start where you are today that small portion of a little gift that finds itself out of your hands to someone\’s hands may mean so much that when you see the kind of joy the person expresses you begin to think what really could such a drop do to such a person and you will be shocked to note that drop will move a particular mountain in the person\’s life.
Do you know some days like that i will pray to God to please grant me the grace to impact on somebody no matter how small it may be that day and when I\’m able to accomplished that I feel fulfill and I normally get some unexpected blessings I never imaged that day.
\”Give and it shall be given to you a good measure , pressed down shaken together and running over will be measured to you\”. (Luke 6:38).
Take a firm decision to start giving even as we cross over to 2020 make it a year of giving. It is More Blessing To give than to receive. The more you you give tbe more you may likewise be given. May God Reward you as you continue to honour God with your substances, may all the sacrifices of your giving be remembered by God may it not be in vain in Jesus name amen🙏 Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blissful new year amen ✍️ Blessing I N Onugha 💟
