STORMS OF LIFE

Life has never been easy. The Storms of life varies from individual to individuals no matter the kind of storm you find yourself, it should be viewed as a phase in life and most be overcome.

Dictionary meaning of storm, it\’s a disturbance of the normal condition of the atmosphere , manifestation get itself by winds of unusual force or direction often accompanied by rain , Snow, Hail, Thunder, and Lightening or fling Sand or Dust.

Life in this instance is likened to present itself in a stormy situation with disturbances of a normal condition manifesting itself of unusual forces or direction.

Storms manifest itself in various forms, the physical and the spiritual . Physical Storms are the challenges of life that can weigh us down if not in check or those stumbling blocks that may be a hindrance to our desires or life threatening situation that saps energy from us or drifts our focus away in our daily pursuit of life expectancies.

Life threatening situation may come in form of Relationship gone sour, Financial challenges, Lack of Job, Health issues, lost of self confident due to discouragement, Accident, Attacks from the Enemies, Even experiencing real Storms like disastrous weather conditions like Storms itself, windy rain in form of Hurricane or Tornadoes or the troublent wave from the Sea.

All physical storm can easily be treated because they have an expiration time lag which can be overcome by change of weather or change of approaches . One can easily get help like in the time of Jesus Christ and His disciples.

According to the scripture one day when Jesus and His disciples were Crossing the Sea of Galilee in a boat. Suddenly a Stormy wave came up breaking through the boat so that water filled inside their boat and the Disciples lives were threatened and they woke Jesus up from His sleep and they said to Him “Teacher don’t you care if we are drown?” And Jesus got up rebuked the wind and said to the Stormy wave “Quiet and be Still!!” the stormy wind died down; there was a complete calm. (Mark 4:35-41)

If your are in any way challenged by physical health , the Bible says “On hearing this, Jesus said to them it is not the healthy who need a Physician, but they that are sick…”. (Mark 2:17). This means when you\’re faced with health condition, visit the doctor or consult a physician to diagnose your problem and proofer treatment for the cure.

In the book of James 5:14-15. It says “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church. And let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of the faithful shall save the sick , And the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins , they shall be forgiven him.

When you’re in lack of finances; you have to do something to change your situation for example find something doing or gain employment to get money to solve your financial obligations.

The scripture recorded that when Jesus was in Capernaum with his disciples and the tax collector wanted to tempt him by asking peter if Jesus pays tax and peter replied them that Jesus pays tax, then he informed Jesus And Jesus said to him “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a Four drachma coin . Take it and give to them for my tax and yours” (Mark 17:27) NIV.

In other words you can solve your physical Storms by seeking the right means or you can get help to come out of your stormy situations

But for Spiritual Storms, Spiritual storm is deeper than physical storm in the sense that it does not manifest easily for the eyes to see rather through some inordinate action of the victims, which most times may be more devastating than the physical storm and might lead to death.

When one is a victim of spiritual storm , it attacks your personality, your psyche, emotions , reasoning mentality, in fact your total wellbeing will be off guide, you begin to feel inside you an atmospheric winds of unusual force or direction of disturbances manifesting in the victims life. Though in severe cases the victim may not know the extent of harm caused. Most individuals may be dependent of another person for direction or survival until there is a cure to such situation.

When a person no longer have control over certain appetites in him/her to the point of derailment, it calls for attention. For the Bible says concerning Paul in admonishing the Galatian Christians to “Walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the Lust of the Flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit and the Spirit against the Flesh, and these are contrary the one to other, so that ye cannot do the things that ye would”. (Galatians 5:16-17).KJV.

Paul went. Further to enumerate the works of the flesh “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adulatory, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness, Idolatry , Witchcraft, Strife, Sedition’s, Heresies, Envying, Murderers , drunkenness, Revellings, …” the above mentioned are spiritual weaknesses which manipulates the thinking of a carnally minded man and cause him to derail.

In this case the victims of these fleshy desires may not help himself or herself ordinarily without taking a strong willed step to get rid of the disturbances in his mind by subduing them through the fruit of the Spirit which is Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance, against such there is no law. Galatians 5 :19-23.

Lust is a spiritual default , can be dwelt with through Spiritual exercises by fervent prayers, Fasting and perhaps seeking help through bible believing churches by the pastors or experienced honest people who can motivate you through words of wisdom which is in the word of God.

Lust attacks the emotions and personalities of psychology of the victim, it can not be seen with the physical eye rather the action it created will be seen and felt after the commission of the act, therefore it is a stormy situation.

The number of child’s rape cases and Abuse are on the increase now because people are tormented by their emotions so badly that they are becoming a psychiatric problem. People are no more placing value to life ; cases of sucide and murder are growing every day due to psychological forces and disturbances.

WHAT CAN ONE DO WHEN FACING STORMS OF LIFE.

Remember, the Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom , and to depart from evil is wisdom. The path of the righteous are directed by God and as many as that are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God; Sin is a reproach.

As far as there is life , we must keep on moving and challenges do abound yet there are ways to overcome such challenges for the scripture says “No temptation has overtaking you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful , He will not let you be tempted , He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”. (1corinthians 10:13)

What that verse is trying to say is, no temptation in your life you are going through that is not common amongst men. Keep your hope in God who is faithful to deliver you from such trials for He will not allow what you’re going through to overwhelm you because many have gone through it and they are not carried away by such trials when they believe and trust in God for an escaping route.

Are you going through depression, storms of life or any life challenges that is taking away your peace? Cheer up you will get over it. Put up a better attitude towards life. Is the demand of life hitting you so hard that you’re losing sight of the Lord and you are beginning to doubt His promises because of delays, be grateful to the ones you have and maintain a habit of gratitude, focus on the things you are grateful for even while waiting on the things you are hoping for while in struggling.

Look into the better side of life no storm last too long. Be confident of who you are and whose you are. It is not over until God answers your prayers for we are encouraged to pray without season. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching there unto with all perseverance and supplications…”. (Ephesians 6:18).

This kind shall not go away except by praying and fasting. Be conscious of the presence of God around you to help you restrict certain behavior around you and know who your friends are for bad communication corrupt good manners, keep faith with God and do not trust in man for the hand of flesh will fail and disappoint you.

The disciples of Jesus could not heal a child who was possessed by a spirit of eplipsy and was brought by his father to be healed , immediately Jesus came to the scene the father of the child complained to Jesus and the child with the evil spirit was delivered of the evil spirit and the disciples were marveled and said to Jesus in Matthew 17:19-21.

Matt.17.19 – Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
Matt.17.20 – And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matt.17.21 – Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

“For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee, fear not, I will help thee”. (Isaiah 41:13). Do not relay on your own understanding in your confused state
