Companionship is the state of spending time with one or having someone spend time with you. It is a state of having a companion or being someone\’s companion.

Who is your companion, who do you like to spend time with. \”As iron sharpens iron , so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend\”. (Proverbs 27:17). Do you think that person you like to spend your ample time really is a friend indeed and not unfriendly friend, a fair weather friend who is marking time waiting for when to take you unaware. The Bible calls them a Wolf in a sheep cloth.

Do you know that you can attract blessings just by being around the right people. Likewise, it is possible to pick up curses by being in the wrong company. That is why the Psalmist said in Psalms 26:4-5

“I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers.  I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.”

Who you associate with has a great influence on what you attract. This is why you must be friend with good and God fearing people. Search for people who are wiser than you and be their friends. Proverbs 13:20  says:

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Don\’t stay in the midst of gossips or people jesting about their sinful acts. If you find yourself among those who are indifferent concerning evil or bad performances please take a walk for The scriptures says \”Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter\”. (Isaiah 5:20) These kind of people are bad influence, bad communication corrupts good manners.

Always choose your partners and associates carefully. Partner with genuine children of God. If the person carries the blessings of God, you can be sure that your project(s) will be blessed. When you are in business with one who is suggesting you cut corners, give bribes or cheat, break such relationships because that fellow will invite the devil into your enterprise.

God commands us to love our neighbour as ourselves, not that everyone must be our friend. We must choose our friends wisely. It is not act of cowardice to quit bad companionship rather cowardice to remain in it which is not healthy. Thanks for Reading.
