ENTER HIS REST.

HEBREW 4:1-3.

Heb.4.1 – Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb.4.2 – For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb.4.3 – For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

What is Rest?

Rest is a promise from God; It is a Realm you will enter as a good Christian and nothing bothers you though things happens around you outwardly and inside you are not shaken for you will be at peace with yourself.

Rest is to cease from work or movement in other to relax, sleep or recover strength. It is an expectation that those who believed in the promises of God are so determined that their faith does not shake even in the midst of adverse situation.

Rest does not negate the fact That there are challenges , battles raging or unpleasant conditions that may want to bring fears in our mind.

The Psalmist says “Though an army may encamp against me. My heart shall not fear, Though war may rise against me in this I will be confident”.(Psalm27:3)

HOW DO WE ENTER HIS REST?

Faith to the word of God triggers our entering. Faith is the transport that conveys us to entering into that realm where we experience peace in the midst of turmoil .Psalm 46:1-3

Ps.46.1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Ps.46.2 – Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Ps.46.3 – Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

Faith activates promises of God, it is the key to enter into the realm where you experience calmness irrespective of what the situations spelt out, you find out that nothing moves you. It is a place where the presence of Goliath (Giants) does not matter because it\’s presence may not be a threat to you, where sickness and whatever the doctor may declare as your case does not impose threat because you know that your Redeemer liveth

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN GOD SAYS “I will give you Rest\”

The Rest God is referring here is not Rest from your daily work or physical exhaustion after a long work. It is an assurance that there will be a profound peace that God gives to those who love and obey His word regardless of the circumstances they are going through.

HOW DO WE SUSTAIN GOD’s REST

In Matthew 8:11 Jesus says come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you Rest, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your soul.

If you’re labouring with a heavy heart, the scriptures says come unto God to obtain Rest.

By constantly hearing from God in time of trouble. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Always go to the Lord and enquire of Him for men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth.

Encourage one another in time of trouble Hebrew 3:13. \”But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin\”.

Entering His Rest indicates how close you are in your walk with God.

Do you know that one can hinder himself or herself from entering into His Rest

Hebrew 3:7-11

Heb.3.7 – Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Heb.3.8 – Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
Heb.3.9 – When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Heb.3.10 – Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Heb.3.11 – So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.

Harden not your heart. Let your mind be open in receiving His word afresh daily.

Do not be rebellious and walk in the obedience to His word and do not doubt His sayings, Do not fall short of His word because it makes His word you hear of no effect and you will receive it with unbelief in your heart Heb.3.12 – Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Endeavor to honor Him in your life by simple obedience without doubt, rebelling against His word. Rebellious is regarded as a sin of witch craft so submit yourself to doing His well.

May God\’s mercies uphold us so that we may not fall out of His grace to enter His Rest because that\’s the best place to be. The Bible tells us about the kindness of God no matter how chaotic our lives or situation may look like, His loving kindness will not depart from us. \”For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee\”. (Isaiah 54:10).

I pray you enter His Rest and be Blessed. Thanks for Reading.
