1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Let joy be your continual feast. 17 Make your life a prayer. 18 And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.
Be grateful to God always no matter what may be the reason for being sad. When you look around you if you\’re honest to yourself every morning you will appreciate and thank God for the gift of life because some went to bed last night the same way you did perhaps healthier than you before they went to bed yet they couldn\’t make it to see another bright new day.
Some though woke up yet not able to be on their toes without help but here you are moving already with vitality and vigor perhaps dressed to be on your way for the days activities, right? Don\’t take it for granted.
\”You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God\” (2Corinthians 9:11) NIV. Count your blessings and name them one by one you will see what the Lord has done for you.
Whatever level you think you are right now, do you know that some people are envious of you wishing to be like you while you may be feeling not satisfied somebody out there is breaking his/her head praying fervently to desire to get to that level.
I remembered in those good old days in secondary school when we would rushed down to the cafeteria for our meals before anyone could be allowed to touch her food the cafe prefect would start and all of us would joined in the chorus \”Some have food but cannot eat, Some can eat but have no food, we have food and we can eat glory be to God most High\”. This was our popular prayers before eating our food.
Do you know that song was just chorused unianimously without any thoughts about it until I got to know the real meaning of that song later. Yes! So many times we take for granted the Blessings of God we received thinking that it doesn\’t matter. In fact some may attribute it to their hard work or their connections or better still their qualifications, all sorts of things. Wait until you see somebody who is better than you in all aspects yet nothing to show forth then you got to know that this one has nothing to do with your ability or capacity, Is the Lord\’s Doing
Therefore, it is the time now to begin to praise God in prayers, in thanksgiving and in appreciating others for who they are not to despise anybody. It is the right time to Thank God for all His goodness even in your trying times never cease in trusting Him for He can not forsake nor leave you.
May God fill us with peace and give us the strength and grace to be found worthy at all times in Jesus name amen.
