Philippines 2:1-5 Passion Bible
1 Look at how much encouragement you’ve found in your relationship with the Anointed One! You are filled to overflowing with his comforting love. You have experienced a deepening friendship with the Holy Spirit and have felt his tender affection and mercy.
2 So I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—with one heart, one passion, and united in one love. Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.
3 Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. 4 Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. 5 And consider the example that Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation
It is easy to get caught up in the pursuit of our own advancement in life and to fall into conflict with others in the process of \”fighting our way to the top. \” It is easy to then look at our list of accomplishments and look down at others as if they were inferior to us. But God here calls us to instead be lowly of mind and to consider others to be better than ourselves.
A kind-hearted person is one who likes other people a lot and always wants to help and please them. The bible describe such a person as not being selfish rather Possesses a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests.
Kindness is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are the perfection the Holy Spirit formed in us to help us live a worthy life and maintain good relationship and well being within us and in dealing with others
22 But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do. 25 We get our new life from the Spirit, so we should follow the Spirit. 26 We must not be proud or make trouble with each other or be jealous of each other. (Galatians 5:22-26). NCB.
The bible itself is an embodiment of words of inspirations on how to live the better version of your life and also an encouragement to others for instance 1Thessalonians 5:11 says \”Therefore encourage one another and build one another up just as you are doing\” . The book of Proverbs 12: 25 says \”Anxious fear brings depression,
but a life-giving word of encouragement
can do wonders to restore joy to the heart\”.
It is very important to be kind hearted to people you meet on your way. Treat others the way and manner you would love others to treat you because you never can say the good impact your little kindness may translate in the life of that person.
\”And become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you\” (Ephesians 4:32) AMP
9 We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up. 10 When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers. (Galatians 6:9-10.
“In everything you do, be careful to treat others in the same way you’d want them to treat you, for that is the essence of all the teachings of the Law and the Prophets.”
So many people move about with heavy and burdened heart, perhaps listening to hear soft and sweet words from anywhere and anyhow who knows if that your little kindness or encouraging words or act shown to such a person may be a reviving impactation sought for to move on. A kind word the bible says is as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body.
Things happens often and may have been responsible to hardening people\’s heart at times as such makes them walk away from showing kindness to others who are in sincere need of such help. It is apparently disheartening when you show kindness to an ingrate or someone who pays your kindness back with evil, albeit do not hesitate and don\’t lose hope, for the scripture says \”Cast your bread upon the waters,
For you will find it after many days.
2 Give a serving to seven, and also to eight,
For you do not know what evil will be on the earth\”. Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 NKJV.
We will not be weary in showing kindness for in due season you will receive your reward says the Lord ; so do not be discouraged by the action(s) of the ungrateful few, always be ready to stretch your hands of fellowship whenever you have the opportunity to do so. Be prepared to do something good and amazing to someone close to you and do not expect anything in return for such acts move God who sees in hidden and in light and He can reward you according to your kindheartedness.
