RESIST THE DEVIL, HE FLEE

James 4:6-10. TPB.

But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says,

God resists you when you are proud
but continually pours out grace when you are humble.”

So then, surrender to God. Stand up to the devil and resist him and he will turn and run away from you. Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting. Feel the pain of your sin, be sorrowful and weep! Let your joking around be turned into mourning and your joy into deep humiliation. 10 Be willing to be made low before the Lord and he will exalt you!

Bullies are known everywhere by their acts and actions of intimidating and ordering their victims around. There was a man in the village who had the penchant of acting tough and bulling his supposed victims that comes across him. He will cease your belongings and claimed ownership if you\’re ignorant or timid that will be the end of the use of your wares because he will allegedly accused the person falsely. One day luck ran out of him, he tried his nonsense on a young boy who just returned from township and perhaps most have heard of Ogoke\’s behavioral pattern he mustered courage and fought back.

He realizes that his worst fear has come to pass and it was not a big deal to overcomed the tyrant, infact he takes matters into his own hands and tears into the bully and overpowered him. That was the end of the terrorist and nobody knew how he disappeared from the village unnoticed. In the end Steven gets his gold chain back. He has conquered the bully.

Any bully works the same way. Satan as a bully is not different from other bullies you must have come across. When he comes around you to show off prepare to battle him and he will \”flee.\” When we resist him, we prove that we aren\’t afraid of him. He realizes that he has no chance with us, so he just leaves us alone only then We emerge as conquerors nothing but more than conquerors.

The scriptures addressed him as an adversary, an accusers of the brethrens. \”Then [the guiding angel] showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at Joshua’s right hand to be his adversary and to accuse him.. And the Lord said to Satan, The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! Even the Lord, Who [now and habitually] chooses Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this [returned captive Joshua] a brand plucked out of the fire? (Zechariah 3:1-2) AMP.

He is a liar and a deceiver, when you allowed him a chance in your heart, he manipulates your mind to tell lies and deceives others. \”But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart that you should lie to and attempt to deceive the Holy Spirit, and should [in violation of your promise] withdraw secretly and appropriate to your own use part of the price from the sale of the land?\” (Acts 5:3 ).

Whenever he is around, he comes to steal our joy and to destroy our happiness also he takes away our drives and motivations. \”The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). John 10:10.

He\’s cunning and misrepresents his true personality so that he may lure his victims to do as he says. \”Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory (the splendor, magnificence, preeminence, and excellence) of them.. And he said to Him, These things, all taken together, I will give You, if You will prostrate Yourself before me and do homage and worship me\” (Matthew 4:8-9).

He is a betrayal, a money monger. Whenever he enters any place, he causes disunity, disaffections and separation. 1 Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover.. 2 And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people. 3 Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. 4 He went away and conferred with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them.. 5 And they were glad, and agreed to give him money.. 6 So he consented and sought an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of a crowd. (Luke 22: 1-6) ESV.

The scriptures described him as a roaring lion seeking for who to devour. he devours anyone he gets hold on and messes the person up without mercy. He causes strife and bad belly amongst siblings, friends and relations, he\’s not considerate except you resist him by all means. Those who do not fall into his devices are those who resisted his antics by submitting to God\’s promises. \”Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you\”. James 4:7. KJV.
