Psalm 126:1-3. NCBV.
1 When the Lord brought the prisoners back to Jerusalem,
it seemed as if we were dreaming.
2 Then we were filled with laughter,
and we sang happy songs.
Then the other nations said,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are very glad.
In Romans 8: 28 Paul says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” What he was trying to do here was to encourage the christian brethren who are working faithfully with love to Christ who were passing through persecutions and trials to continue in resilience no matter the circumstances because already God is working out good things for you which is about to manifest at the end of your sufferings.
When the Lord restored Israelites back from their hardship at the time they least expected, they boosted out in songs, they sang happy songs of jubilation for the good things the Lord has done for them. The noise of their joy awakened the curiousity of their neighbours around that they too began to feel the same vibes they also acknowledged the fact that God has delivered them out of their bondages and out of inprisonment that hindered their progress.
May God cause you to make a Joyful Noise that will bring shivers to the camp of your enemies amen. King David said of the Lord in Psalm 23: 5. “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows”. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: And shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. Psalm 32:11.
The scripture recorded that in the course the blaming and counseling session of Job’s Friends who came to commisurate with him. Bildad the shuhite, one of the unfriendly friends of Job answered him in his turbulent times “Surely God does not reject the innocent or give strength to those who do evil. God will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy” Job 8:20-21.
Your testimony will be like the children of zion who testified that The Lord has Done Great Things For Them And They Are Filled With Joy. It doesn’t matter what people may ascribed to your moment of trials. You’re coming out of it rejoicing.
You will surmount all challenges and came with singing no matter whatever that looks like a prison yard in your life though weeping may tarry all through your night hours but joy comes in the morning. Be glad and rejoice in all circumstances For the Lord is with You.
PRAYER
Almighty Father, please fill my mouth with laughter and my heart with Joy even when it seems I am treading through the valley and shadow of death for I shall fear no evil because thou art with me. Let my cup fill to the brim and running over to make my enemies seek to know you in Jesus name, Amen.
REFLECTION
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. (Psalm30:5).
