ARE YOU THIRSTY? CALL UPON THE LORD.

Isaiah 44:3 AMP.

For I will pour water upon him who is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground. I will pour My Spirit upon your offspring, and My blessing upon your descendants.

There is a CALL that God sounds throughout the Bible and throughout the centuries – He is calling the thirsty ones to come to Him and drink! As long as you are somebody – as long as you are part of “EVERYONE”, you are qualified to come and drink! Also, as long as you are THIRSTY, you can come to Him and drink! And Jesus demostrated this when He called out to the people not minding the categories of people that were present as long as you have breath in you and you are human , this call is for you

“On the last and most important day of the feast Jesus stood up and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart, as the Scripture says.” (John 7:37-38).

Has there been a time when you have felt dry or empty? When you go through difficult times, we may feel like we have nothing left. As Christians, we can rest in the assurance that this feeling will not last because we can call on the Holy Spirit to pour into us and revive us again. Much like how God can change a famine into a time of over flowing abundance, so shall our spiritual lives be turned from driness to overflowing wetness.

Thirst is normally just the brain’s way of warning that you’re dehydrated because you’re not drinking enough fluid. But excessive and persistent thirst (known as polydipsia) could be a sign of an underlying health conditions in human body and it needs quick intervention so does our spirit crave for immediate response to our spiritual nag for our heart desirer but the bible says “The one believing in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.”

Jeremiah says of God, “Lord, you are the hope of Israel; all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the Lord, the spring of living water.” (Jeremiah 17:13)

As believers don’t be arrogant or proud, don’t think you know the Bible and this is enough: come to Christ as the living water and drink of Him! It is a blessing to hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matt. 5:6) . Man was made with a continual thirst for God, he shall continuously come to God all the time. (Psalm 22:2), And it is human to be thirsty. As you seek Him early Your soul shall thirsty for God in a waterless place, and we faint in longing after Him (Psalm 63:1).

PRAYER

Dear God and Father in heaven, when I am tired, I feel so empty. After all these struggles in life I need to be replenished. I want to serve you and tell others about you, but these difficulties are making me feel like I do not have anything to give. Please send your Holy Spirit to pour into me so that I may serve you unreserved. O Lord, may I live my life in a way that shows others my blessings come from You above In Jesus name, Amen.

REFLECTION

What our souls long for and that which shall bring us refreshment is the adherence to God’s calls in acknowledging our thirst and to relieve it by drawing from the well of Christ Jesus in prayers.
