BOLDNESS

Hebrew 10:19-24 NIV.

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

The the real meaning of BOLDNESS I can say is a brave and confident way of behaving that shows no fear. While the Dictionary defines BOLDNESS (1) willingness to take risks and act innovatively; confidence or courage.
(2) the quality of having a strong, vivid, or clear appearance.

BOLDNESS Scripturally means a mark of Spirit-empowerment and is granted in response to prayer amidst persecution. Paul in his time of trial once prayed to increase in boldness “And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 3:19-20).
And in each instance, boldness is not a general character attribute but a specific grace for proclaiming the word.

Are you bothered about going to God in boldness to table before Him all that grieve your mind? don’t worry you are not alone. Many people think that God is unapproachable perhaps due to sin as such will keep away from God and hide Self from His presence like Adam and Eve did when they hard the voice of God calling unto them. “But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:9-10)

Spirit of Timidity can stall or marr our relationship with God. The Bible reminds us that if we want Him to answer our prayers, we need to approach Him with faith and confidence. If we have doubts, we should not expect to receive anything. “And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace. Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. (James 1:5-6).

Knowing that Jesus Christ has conquered limitations and had broken every barriers with His blood the moment He boldly entered the holy of holiest it then paved way for a new and better living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, we can Now draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.

We don’t have to be timid or indecisive, wondering if God will hear our prayers or not Instead, we are to come boldly before His throne of Mercy for the righteous is as bold as a Lion .

However the scripture says to have this kind of confidence, we need to free our minds from every form of unrighteousness. Our prayers can be hindered if there is sin in our lives. We can be cleansed by “having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure living water”. If your spirit do not condemn you then you are at peace with God and can come to Him with boldness. we are clean and pure in God’s sight, we can be bold and confident.

Don’t allow your prayers to be crippled by doubt. Don’t be timid. Approach God with boldness and confidence. He is ready to hear and answer your request. For He who promised is faithful to fulfill it.
