Psalm 84:11-12. NIV.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. 12 Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.
The above quote is God\’s way of encouraging His people for He is a SUN and a SHIELD to those who walk blamelessly and He has never withhold any good things from them that trust in Him.
The Lord is a sun that brightens our day \”for he maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust\” . , “For the Lord God is a sun and shield\’\’ Here He reassures us, that \”The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night\’\’ (Psalm 121:6). In the face of these passages the sun is used to describe God, who is good, while the second tells us that the sun won\’t harm us. “But for you who honor me, goodness will shine on you like the sun, with healing in its rays. You will jump around, like well-fed calves. (Malachi 4:2) we also received Healing from the rays of the sun. God is healing, He is Light and good for us in all aspect. The Lord is the source of all the good things under the planet earth, through Him we enjoy the beautiful radiance the sun reflects.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. He has invested in our well-being and wants us to put our hope in Him, even when everything around us is suggesting contrary those who trust in Him will remain calm because He is our shield, our defender, a guard, protects, and safeguards us. While all these words mean \”to keep us secured from danger or against attack,\” A shield suggests protective intervention in imminent danger or actual attacks from the enemies.
The Lord is our shield , He protects and cares for us for He is our SHIELD And BUCKLER. Shields are known for its protective machanism. In practical terms when you see police men fully dressed to wage war against protesters one of the important garget you must notice will be their iron shield which looks like a woven basket rightly placed in their front to ward off missile or arrows , clubs or any weapon thrown at them by the protesters to guide themselves against injuries or impending dangers.
\”After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying,
“Do not fear, Abram,
I am a shield to you;
Your reward shall be very great.” (Genises 15:1).
The Lord is assuring you that you must not lose heart for He is your protector a shield around you for your reward for casting your cares upon Him will be great. He will Honour and Favour you therefore do not fear when men rise up against you. Wait on the Lord for He will strengthen you.. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
Remain Blessed As you Read Amen
