BEWILDERED!!

Acts 2:5-8. THE PASSION

5 Now, at that time there were Jewish worshipers who had emigrated from many different lands to live in Jerusalem. 6 When the people of the city heard the roaring sound, crowds came running to where it was coming from, stunned over what was happening, because each one could hear the disciples speaking in his or her own language. 7 Bewildered, they said to one another, “Aren’t these all Galileans? 8 So how is it that we hear them speaking in our own languages?

Jesus promised that when the Spirit came, His disciples would receive power (Acts 1:8). But no one knew exactly what to expect. Then when the Spirit fell on them while they gathered on one accord to pray on the day of Pentecost, everything changed. Ordinary people could do extraordinary things. Unexpectedly the followers of Jesus who out of fear and timidity went into hiding began to do things never ever imagined.

Observing these events were “devout men” that\’s \”the Jewish worshipers\”(v. 5) who were serious about their faith. Many were students of the Scriptures. They found their vocabulary inadequate to describe the outpouring of the Spirit. Firstly they were “BEWILDERED

The Greek word suggests that they were perplexed. Secondly, they were “amazed.” This indicates that they were astounded. What they saw defied belief. Thirdly, they were “astonished.” expressing a sense of wonder. They marveled at what was taking place.

This is a reminder of what the Spirit can do in our lives this present time . Today Holy Spirit can be our companion when we invite him to come and dwell within us. He is ready to amaze, astonish, and fill you with wonders. He can do all things through christ who strengthens you, stretch your imagination, break every boundary or barriers and give you a new understanding and new beginnings. He can use you to mensimirize your haters and put your mockers to shame.

These devout men from Jerusalem knew about miracles because they were with the \”Master\” Jesus Christ. But what they were seeing was something new, never happened before then. They were perplexed and Overwhelmed. They saw the work of the Holy Spirit in action. Though were promised of the Holy Spirit coming to remind them of all things but were yet To discovered what that means and weren\’t told that with the Holy Spirit, nothing is impossible. All limits are removed. Amazing things happens. We can gain such experiences also the moment we invite the Holy Spirit to to be incharged over life

\”And don’t get drunk with wine, which is rebellion; instead be filled with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. 19 And your hearts will overflow with a joyful song to the Lord Jehovah. Keep speaking to each other with words of Scripture, singing the Psalms with praises and spontaneous songs given by the Spirit\”! (Ephesians 5:18-19).

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, fill me afresh, empower me with your powers so that your work through me will bewilder many and put them in the state of Wonders. Open my eyes to know more of Your truth. With You anything is possible! In Jesus name, amen.

REFLECTION
Open your heart and mind to the Spirit. Remove from you all forms of limiting imagination that can hinder you.
