Roman 16:12-14. NKJV.
12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who labored much in the Lord. 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren who are with them.
Tryphaena and Tryphosa were so important to Paul that he greeted them by naming them in his letters to the Romans especially for their hard labour which were so visible that they needed to be recommended. Some scholars think they were sisters and possibly twins. They might have been church leaders. But what particularly distinguished them was that they “worked hard in the Lord.” They weren’t alone. Like these two women, Paul’s friend Persis also worked very hard.
The dedicated efforts of these people made a dramatic impact on the church. Other believers noticed their work ethics, and their attitude set a good example to have spur paul\’s fancy.
Believers face many challenges. We can find ourselves developing excuses and doing only what seems easy. But in every situation, we demonstrate our commitment through the words we speak and the things we do, even through challenging tasks, through seeking first the Kingdom of God and having the right priorities set up
We show commitment by being faithful with the tasks He has called us to do, being willing to do practical things, not complaining but serving God in whatever we do, and by doing everything as the book of Colossians put it thus. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters\”. (Colossians 3:23).
You may face challenging situations. Don’t give up or become discouraged. Stay put faithfully and Show yourself committedly willing to tackle every project as unto the Lord. The scripture says Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9. So Don’t grow weary while doing good in any thing you find your hands doing.
Remember God is watching, He will reward you for your conscious hard work for His Kingdom sake.
HOW CAN WE SHOW COMMITMENT TO GOD FOR KINGDOM SAKE? It’s not always easy to know what God wants from us, but He has given us some clues. In the Bible, God tells us that we can show our commitment to Him by praying, reading the Bible, giving and caring for others, going to church as well as Commiting our time and resources to doing His Work.
The dictionary defines commitment as “The state of being dedicated to a cause, activity, or purpose.” When it comes to our relationship with God, this dedication needs to be two-fold: we need to be fully committed to Him, and He also needs to be the focus of our commitment.
PRAYER
Father, I want to serve You with the time, talents, and treasures You have given me. Help me accomplish much for Your Kingdom and to be truly commited in doing your Will In Jesus name Amen.
REFLECTION
It’s easy to talk the talk, but true commitment is walking the walk. That means being obedient to God’s will, even when we don’t understand it. It means following His commandments and adhering to His teachings. It means putting Him first in our lives, above everything and everyone
