THE THINGS THE LORD HATE.

Proverbs 6:16-19. AMP

16 These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,. 19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.

The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Several bible verses have professed how compassionate our God is. Exodus 34:6-7 is the first description of God\’s attributes found in the Bible, and it\’s also the most referenced passage in the Bible. Here we learn that all of God\’s actions are an expression of these attributes: compassion, grace, patience, loyal love, and faithfulness.

The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. Psalms 103:8-11.

Psalms 145:8 -9 concurred to the compassion and goodness of God over all people Despite His Compassion, Mercies And Goodness, it does not take away the facts that there are things He hated and some are detestable to Him as such He Can\’t even tolerate them to say the least.

According to our bible Reading He declared with all forms of seriousness that \”These are six things the Lord hates.
There are seven things he cannot stand:
17 a proud look,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill innocent people,
18 a mind that thinks up evil plans,
feet that are quick to do evil,
19 a witness who lies,
and someone who starts arguments among families\”

E Shock you that God can nurse hatred? Yeah! don\’t get confuse here please!!! Hatred is a feeling that can be both Godly and sinful depending on what it is that is causing us to hate. The Bible speaks of loving God and hating evil (Psalm 97:10) and hating the assembly of evildoers (Psalm 26:5) and hating falsehood (Psalm 119:116). The more we become like Christ and understand the love of God, the more we will hate hypocrisy, godlessness, and evil the world do.

However, we are also warned over and over in the Bible of how hatred and bitterness can destroy us. God tells us in Scripture that hate is a heart issue and that someone who hates a brother is a murderer! (1 John 3:15) We are encouraged to love one another, keep short records of wrongs, and forgive others, not harboring bitterness or anger in our hearts always.

Follow the context, (1) A Proud Look meaning the spirit of over self esteem, always looking down on somebody, a person with \”Holier than Thou Attitude\” Nothing matters to such a person except that which emanates from him. Humility they say is not Stupidity And Timidity is not wisdom. Albeit Before his downfall a man\’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor Fear of the LORD teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.

(2) A Lying Tongue, the scripture says Liers end in the Lake of Fire. (3) Hands that kills Innocent person(s). The bible says Thou shall Not Kill or You shall not murder is a moral imperative included as one of the Ten Commandments. (4) A mind that thinks up evil Plans. Do you know that some wicked people do not sleep, very restless and crooked in hatching evil against another person and they will not rest until they see to the execution of their wickedness. (5) Feet that are quick to do Evil. Some wicked people will go to any length not minding the cost implications just to carry out wicked plans \”But a thief does not come except to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have whatever is abundant.” .

(6) A False Witness who lies even under oath, he still will falsify his testimony just to nail his victim. All falsehood is from Satan as he doesn\’t speak from God. In John 8:44, Jesus says that Satan is a liar from the beginning, The most Abominable one is the 7th one which the Lord Detested is Any one who sows seed of Discord amongst Family Members. The Lord hates with Passion.

No wonder David asked in Rhetorics in Psalms 139: 21-22 \”Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you? I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies\”. We can borrow from David to hate whatever it is that God hates not compromising at all.

PRAYERS
MAY God Almighty grant us grace to shun all shades of evil in Jesus name Amen.

REFLECTION

The LORD is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
