Romans 8:26-28.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
The Holy Spirit is also there to help us in times of weakness. There are times where we will not know what to say or how to pray. But we can rely on the Holy Spirit and ask Him to help speak for us when we are unable to find the right words to use. He will surely help us and we will find comfort in that moment of need.
Dictionary meaning of INTERCESSION Is the action of intervening on behalf of another. Then INTERCESSORY PRAYER Is the act of praying to God on behalf of others, or praying through Jesus Christ who is in heaven to pray on behalf of oneself or for others.
When we pray expectantly in Jesus name, we expect the answers in accordance with the value of his name. So we can pray with great and excited expectation and see the devils being powerless because of his name. “The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Luke 10:17). “And those who believe will be able to do these things as proof: They will use my name to force out demons. They will speak in new languages. 18 They will pick up snakes and drink poison without being hurt. They will touch the sick, and the sick will be healed.” (Mark 16:17-18)
Often times the book of john chapter 17 contains the account of the events of our Savior’s prayers. It recorded when Jesus Christ prayed for His Disciples which is called the INTERCESSORY PRAYER because in His prayer, Our Lord and Savior interceded on our behalf, praying to His Father for His Apostles and all who would believe in Him that includes Us who are Living.
The Holy Spirit also can intercede on your behalf in time of weakness when you do not know what to pray for. Have you ever found yourself not knowing what to pray for or perhaps you finds it difficult to use the right word(s) while kneeling down to pray?. Of course Yes! It had happened to me I couldn’t explained it appropriately all the same I noticed tears began to rolled down my cheeks I paused but in my spirit I was highly troubled just like a twist I felt eased with a feeling of joy I busted into singing. I song until I began to speak in unknown Tongue at a stretch for about 7- 8 minutes. Honestly I felt like heavy load was taken off my shoulder. It was a great experience to me that night and I slept like a baby.
People actually go through terrible ordeals that we may not know at times, make it your duty to remember loved ones in your prayers perhaps that singular effort may go a long way to help someone.
PRAYERS
Almighty God, you are the God who can do all things. You reign over all; power and might are in your hands. When you decree, it comes to pass. Therefore, I praise you today and always thank you for being our God.
Father I pray for the Nations, that are war torne to save the vulnerable amongst them and give their leaders wisdom to come together and live as one in peace. I also pray for everyone who is under demonic influences and ocultic manipulations to be set free and surrender to the Lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we may enjoy the Love of God. I pray O Lord, for my friends and loved ones who are yet to come to the knowledge of Christ Jesus that the Grace of God will be made available unto them in Jesus name Amen.
REFLECTION
In intercessory prayer, your personal needs becomes secondary while you allow the needs and burdens of others to take preeminent before yours.
