Procrastination is the act of unnecessarily and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.
Procrastination can be harmful in many ways It stinks being an underachiever due to your own inaction doesn’t it? Many people have actully slowed themselves down because they were not wise enough to prioritize their times which most of us fall into such a bad unnecessary longitude. We may be shocked to note the number of people who got derailed on their way of progress in life who literally believed in you and had so much admiration on you but the moment you got stuck on your own ambitions due to your proscranatory attitude they also slacked on their way to success because one way or the other they see you as a mentor.
Luckily, this is something you can fix relatively quickly. Start with shedding some of the habits from those habits that encourages procrastinatory life style. The scripture put it clearly that we should be very careful how we live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16.
Another thing you need to stop doing is the negative self-talk. You know that little voice in your head that keeps degrading your actions and constantly reminds you of your past failures. This one is relatively easy to fix. Replace such self-criticism with self encouragement and positive affirmations about yourself. It’s obvious that self-limiting beliefs had hold too many people down. This happens when people with extraordinary abilities don’t challenge negative thoughts inside of them that stop them from reaching their full potential.
Lack of goal setting has also been a barrier
Setting clear, measurable, and time-sensitive goals is one of the best ways to stop being an underachiever and turn your life around.
A precise, achievable goals will provide you with a sense of direction and motivation.
Your goals should include completing relevant certifications or courses, gaining experience through internships or volunteering, or networking with professionals in your desired field. All these can’t happen if you buried your self in the number one killer of Ambition PROCRASTINATION!!
“Procrastination is the thief of Time”___ CHARLES DICKENS . Delaying your tasks can directly lead to missed opportunities and decreased productivities. For instance, you’re putting off making necessary phone calls or sending important emails or doing all that important writing that will go a long way in creating positive changes. I know I’m not Innocent in this but by God’s grace I am overcoming this obstacles deliberately
Be Intentional, make conscious efforts to beat procrastinating spirit is a time stealer and waster. Avoid everything that may lead you to such inordinate inclination and get going. Don’t allow yourself to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming. Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others.
The best decision you can make towards avoiding procrastination is to make conscious efforts, Be very intentional nothing good comes easy, plan your days in advance and follow a systematic pattern gradually you will overcome procrastinatory habit.
